No-show fees (card on file)

Clients save a card to book; you charge a fee only if they don't come.

On the Pro plan, with card payments connected, open Bookings → Services, tap an appointment service and enter a No-show fee. A service asks for a no-show fee or a deposit, not both. Classes don't use it.

  1. The client picks a time and fills in their details, then taps Continue to save your card.
  2. They save a card on Stripe's secure page. Nothing is charged: the card is kept by Stripe, on your own Stripe account.
  3. Their booking is confirmed, and you get the usual booking email, inbox item and calendar event, with the fee and card shown.

While they save the card, the time is held for them for 30 minutes. If they don't finish, it's released for others.

If they don't come

  1. After the appointment time, mark the booking as a No-show in Bookings.
  2. Tap Charge no-show fee. The fee agreed when they booked is charged to the saved card, and they get a receipt by email.
  3. If the card is declined, nothing is charged and you can try again later.
  • The fee is charged once per booking, only by the workspace owner or an admin.
  • Like other card sales, the NexoPages fee of your plan applies (none on Business).
  • To give it back, refund the payment in your Stripe Dashboard.

Tip: Put your no-show rule in your no-show policy too, so clients read it before they book.

Some banks ask the cardholder to approve a charge made without them. Stripe then declines it, and you can ask the client to pay another way.
